September/October Selections
As Office
XP is covered under the Campus Agreement, CIS will
be conducting a series of half day Advanced Office XP
courses. Starting from September, we will be
conducting Word XP:
Advanced.
This course is intended for
participants interested in learning the advanced features of Word XP.
Participant will learn how to work with document versioning, create
templates and forms, add graphics, use macros, work with long documents,
collaborating documents, and how to enhance and publish web pages.
Building Web Sites Using
FrontPage 2002
The highlights of this FrontPage 2002 upgrade
course include; the easy to use new Wizards and Templates; the new smart
tools to help create a wide range of intranet and Internet pages; the new
PowerPoint-like drawing tools and automatic web content to make your Web
site more exciting and dynamic. You can insert
technology headlines right into your Web site, and
create very cool photo gallery of a few pictures from your holiday trip and
let FrontPage layout the thumbnails for you.
All staff are invited to attend the training to familiarise themselves with
Office XP's substantial new features and functionality.
Training Guides for Office
XP - New Features are available in
Blackboard, under CIS in-house
organisation.
Single Sign-On Training
CIS has
implemented a campus-wide Single Sign-On service for staff in May/June 2003.
The SSO (Single Sign-On) service will integrate seamlessly with SPICE to
bring about strong authentication and single sign-on to applications
supported in SPICE. With Single Sign-On, staff will be able to access campus
IT services including Windows 2000 logon, Lotus Notes email and
applications, Internet services, Blackboard, Oracle web applications, EIS
applications, etc with a single logon.
For those
who have not attended
the training, we have scheduled more classes in
Sept/Oct. Use the HR PAR database for
self-registration.
